Privacy policy
This site collects nothing automatically. No tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics. Server logs record standard request metadata (IP, user agent, timestamp) for a short retention period and are used only to diagnose outages and abuse.
Mailing list signup
The signup form (on the home page and on /buy) collects one piece of personal data: your email address. It uses double opt-in. After you submit the form, a confirmation email is sent to the address you entered. Your address is added to the mailing list only after you click the confirmation link.
Until Defending Bitcoin ships in mid-June 2026, the list is used for a small number of launch updates. After the book ships, the list becomes the Defending Bitcoin newsletter: a weekly read on Bitcoin cybersecurity, plus occasional book and project news. One-click unsubscribe is available in every email sent. You can request deletion at any time via the contact page.
Advance review copies
The /advance-copy page collects a newsletter signup. The link to the advance review copy on BookFunnel is delivered in the confirmation email and shown on the post-confirmation page. The signup uses the same double opt-in described above.
BookFunnel handles the actual manuscript delivery on its own infrastructure. When you click through to BookFunnel, you leave defendingbitcoin.com; BookFunnel's own privacy policy applies from that point, including the email address and reading-device choice you give them. This site does not receive subscriber data from BookFunnel.
Processors
Email submissions and outbound mail for the launch-notification list are processed by Resend under a standard data-processing agreement. Advance review copy distribution is handled by BookFunnel on their own infrastructure. The site is hosted on Vercel, which receives request metadata as part of normal operation.
Spam handling
Forms include a hidden honeypot field that flags automated submissions. There is no third-party CAPTCHA, no behavioural fingerprinting, and no third-party scripts loaded to evaluate submissions.
For corrections, deletion requests, or questions, see the contact page. This policy applies to defendingbitcoin.com only.
